Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been sacked as Manchester United manager afer a disgraceful 4-1 away defeat by Watford on Saturday.
Solskjaer, an icon of the club, had been in charge of United for nearly three years but pressure on his position started building after humiliating losses to Liverpool and Man City despite having star players Cristiano Ronaldo, Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane in the squad.
The club heirarchy had a meeting early Sunday morning, November 21, and agreed to part ways with Solksjaer and will pay him a £7.5m severance fee due to the fact he signed a new 3 year deal in June.
Posting on its social media platforms, Manchester United wrote;
‘Manchester United can confirm that Ole Gunnar Solksjaer has left his role as manager. Thank you for everything Ole.’
The favourites to succeed Solskjaer are Zinedine Zidane, Brendan Rodgers, Mauricio Pochettino and Erik ten Hag.
In 165 games, Solksjaer had 91 Wins, 40 defeats and 34 draws.
Liberia 0-2: Nigeria: Super Eagles Wins Liberia to Move One Step Closer to World Cup play-Off
Nigeria has moved one step closer to booking one of the World Cup play-off spots after beating Liberia on Saturday in Tangier, Morocco.
Victor Osimhen and Ahmed Musa scored from the spot in the first and second half respectively to beat Liberia 2-0.
Napoli’s Victor Osimhen scored the first goal, which was a penalty for Nigeria after the Liberian goalkeeper brought him down.
He converted the resulting penalty to give the Super Eagles an early lead in the first half and even though the away Super Eagles dominated play they could not add another goal in the first half.
In the second half, Substitute and captain Ahmed Musa scored the second goal for Nigeria, another penalty, with four minutes left to go in the match to give Nigeria a 2-0 victory.
The Eagles will need at least a draw in their last match against Cape Verde on Tuesday at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos, Nigeria if they are to qualify for the World Cup play-off.
